Project Description
The upgrade and refit of Bluewater's FPSO vessel, Glas Dowr, was successfully completed in Cape Town harbour in March 2003. The modification of the Glas Dowr included installation of the compression module, process module, flare stack and stabilizer platform unit. The power generation and gas turbine plants were also upgraded. These modifications necessitated extensive changes and additions to the existing piping installation.
Solutions Technology's draughting office was appointed by SA Five Engineering (in preference to other international draughting companies) to compile the "as-built" isometric drawings that were required for final certification of the vessel prior to sail away.
Based on construction mark-ups done by the SA Five Engineering field staff, a total of 824 piping "as-built" isometric drawings were draughted. These were all draughted as new drawings to ensure that the quality of all "as-built" drawings were of the highest standard.
Solutions Technology's draughting office effective management systems ensured that all the drawings were registered, revised, checked and issued in accordance with both SA Five Engineering and Bluewater's project procedures.
